Paying it forward

Ryan has a mission friend, we'll call him Mr. T. 

Mr. T got home in January-he's the friend that's getting married next month! 

Ever since he got home, he's pulled me under his wing, 

and been such a great friend. He is so sincere, and just so....cool. 

Yesterday he came over and we sat and talked for over three hours. 

He told me about his fiancé, he talked to my roommates about their "boy problems." 

Then he turned to me and said, "You and Ryan are perfect for each other." 

It was out of the blue, but kinda sorta exactly what I needed to hear. 

He later texted me after he left and said, "You've got this, life is just around the corner for you."

I thought all of this was sweet of him to say, of course. Everybody loves to hear that you're perfect for the boy of your dreams. But I didn't think I had given off any sort of signs of loneliness or frustration and we hadn't talked about Ryan much. Why did he bring that up?  

It was especially interesting that he said that to me yesterday--a day when I felt so discouraged, so dang grumpy, and so alone. 

"It is usually through another person that God meets your needs." 

Now it's my turn to pay it forward. 

Who needs a kind word of encouragement today?
