Crafty

Tonight, I am soooooooooooo giddy. No, I didn't get a letter from Ryan (dream on), but I found out what cures me when I'm feeling down.

a) diet coke-just the thought of one cheers me up.
b) being crafty.

Exhibit A:

I bought this gem at a garage sale a few weeks ago for $2. I thought it had potential. That, it did.

First I stripped it of it's 1980's teddy bear fabric and painted the border white.
I cut my finger open with a screwdriver in the process...yeah, I know. I didn't know that was possible either. It was disgusting.

Then I picked out some cute fabric with corresponding ribbon to use as a border and some cork to go behind it.
I hot glued the fabric down, then the cork, added some stuffing behind that, then hammered the original wood covering back down over the mess. Easy pho sheezy!
My mom had to document my very first time using a hammer. Yikes!
Oh, and please ignore my work clothes. That's embarrasing.

Then I took a shower (you don't need to do that if you make your own board-but I neeeeeded it)

And VOILA! You have yourself a new and improved corkboard/chalkboard.

I heart it!

My next projects? Redoing a picture frame and a lamp shade. Pictures to come!
