Simply Single

I came to a conclusion today.
I am SO happy that I'm single.
I was talking to a nurse at my hospital a few days ago
who said that she had her 12th child the same week she graduated from nursing school.
12th.
There are other people in the program with me
who are getting married
having babies (one is due the week before finals...terrible planning on that one)
and trying to support a family by getting up at 3 am for their custodial job.
Me?
I go to class.
I come home.
I study.
I watch my shows.
I work out.
I play with my friends.
I eat what I want.
I sleep in if I wanna.
I stay out as late as I want to.
I don't have to tell anyone where I'm at,
I don't have to check my schedule and someone else's schedule before making plans,
I just do it.
And it's awesome.
Now-with that being said, I must clarify that having my Ryguy with me
next fall
will be awesome and I look forward to it everyday.
I think I am going to LOVE being a little wifey who cooks and cleans and watches tv with her husband
[when that time comes]
Seriously.
But right now?
I'm grateful for this time that I have to plug through nursing school,
get as much done as I can while I'm "single" and while life is simple.
Because I know I will look back on this time with longing eyes
when I have a family, a job, a new life.
I thought it was a curse, when Ry left.
I thought- "how am I ever going to get through nursing school alone?"
But now I can see that it's been a blessing.
Simplicity is a blessing most overlooked.

You hit the nail on the head! I literally wrote Matt tonight (his p day is tomorrow) and seriously told him how grateful I am for the kind of schedule I have! I always tell him how crazy it is..but today I was thinking..woah! I am grateful and humbled to I know I am blessed with the schedule I have when I think about the same type of people you have mentioned with busier schedules...and I am happy that mine is way simpler than that. Especially the eat and sleep and do whatever when I wanna! It's crazy we are on the same page here!

I just love this so much. We really are so blessed. Oh, and can I add? We get to be in the giddy phase with our boys for so long! How great is that?
