well, today isn't over, but I can tell it's going to be a good day.

yesterday i was listening to the radio, and this man called in asking for Delilah to play a song. he said that his wife and only child were killed in a drunk driving accident, which also took his vision. he was a mechanic by trade, so losing his vision also meant losing his job. the loser who took virtually everything this man had, only got 18 months of community service. and the man was surviving. he was happy. he was channeling his energy by helping others, and something he said that really got me was, "well, there's nothing i can do about the situation now, except to make the most of it."
my roommate in the car with me was blown away.
i was humbled.
i'm gunna be a-ok.

today i think i finally felt a tiiiny teensy little slice of peace...where the heartache isn't so raw, and feelings of excitement are coming back.
tomorrow is the 3 month mark. i think we may be turning a corner.
hope i didn't just jinx it.
but i made my favorite chili this morning. it's in the crockpot to come home to. aaaand, it's a rainy day.
you can't go wrong with chili and rain.

You brought me to tear. (just one came out... ha ha but still.. I never cry). It's so true. We can't ever change what's happened in the past, and we can ONLY go forward. What a great story.
Love ya Whit!
aaannnd. we will be tapping again on monday!! :)
Oh man, what a sad story!! Matt and I have been helping an incredible family that just came here from Orem, UT to give a last effort to save their 9 yr old daughter's life from a brain tumor. Listening to their story sure has put my challenges with Carter into perspective. Life could always be harder couldn't it?!!
