A Year Ago Today...

So I've been really excited to post this story, but I've waited until TODAY to tell it because it's the year anniversary of this crazy story.
So, it starts off on a Saturday.
A family in my ward asked me to dress up as Snow White and come make a "guest appearance" at their 3 year old's birthday party. So, I did, and they totally thought I was the real deal. HOW CUTE IS THAT! I felt a little ridiculous, but it was so funny. I loved it.
So I left that party early and came home and changed into this FABULOUS outfit to go play my all-time favorite sport: ULTIMATEEEEEEE FRISBEE! I absolutely love this sport.
My friends and I had planned to play on this day because it was supposed to be like 50 degrees and we just love ultimate. So I was PUMPED!
My friends and I was slipping and sliding across the football field, just having a fabulous time.
WELLLLL, someone threw me the frisbee, and I got all dramatic and fell. But I not only fell, I POPPED something. My leg bent backwards, and I swear, my leg felt like it broke off.
Well my friends thought I was FAKING IT!! because I'm a goof and would do something like that. But after 5 minutes of screaming, they got the hint. They had to carry me to my car.....then they just put me in the car, and off I went. I DROVE MYSELF HOME WITH A BROKEN LEG.
Bad idea. I don't recommend it.
Needless to say, my friends felt pretty bad to find out that I broke my leg and needed to get surgery. haha, my friends are great. Love them! The best part is me sitting in the ER in hot pink shorts, bright purple spandex, and blue shoes. Classic.
Well it just so happened that two weeks after my surgery, 3 screws later, that my mom had a surgery scheduled to get a bunion removed from her foot.

Oh my gosh. Although this was some of the most pain I've ever been in-it is such a fond memory to me. My mom and I just got to hang out in that bed for 2 months together. My poor dad got kicked out to go sleep upstairs (he volunteerd actually...what a sweetheart!)
So there we were. It was hilarious. We had some goood, good times. This is what made my senior year so awesome. Some nights I wanted to just throw my crutches out into the lake, but really, I don't remember the pain. I remember the time I got to spend with my mom! What a blessing.

I broke my left leg and my mom got surgery on her right foot, so I could drive after a few weeks. Well, her and I attempted to go to target one day. We looked pretty ridiculous with her in the electric cart and me on crutches. I remember we could NOT stop laughing all the way through the store. Oh geeze :)

Oh, and my dad took us out to a buffet one night too. Poor dad got a lot of crap for "beating us up so bad". HAHA!

These pictures are 2/3 weeks after my surgery-pretty nasty!!

Broken leg vs. normal leg

I still have my scar and I love it!!
Hey, it added a little spice to my life. And a story to tell....
